Introducing Level Up Your SQL - an email series designed to help you elevate your SQL skills and become a more efficient analyst.

Over the course of 20 days, we’ll send you a daily email highlighting one of our favorite SQL functions and practical examples of how we use them as working data professionals.

The inspiration behind this series came from the realization that whenever one of us discovered a new SQL function or syntax, we couldn’t wait to share it with each other. This mutual teaching made us more efficient and productive in our data workflows. So, we figured others could benefit as well.

A few housekeeping notes:

• The contents of this series assume that you have at least a working knowledge of SQL fundamentals (e.g., SELECT, WHERE, GROUP, JOIN, etc.).

• While our examples will primarily use Snowflake syntax, most functions have equivalents in other SQL flavors.

• Most importantly, one of the beautiful things about SQL is that it is incredibly flexible. That means there are often several ways to approach a single problem. We'd love to hear if you think of a better solution than what we’ve outlined in our examples.
